Happiness and suffering are feelings – one of the aggregates/parts found within our minds – and so their main cause are not to be found outside the mind but mainly within it. If we really want to be truly happy and free ourselves from suffering we must work to improve our understanding of the mind and its function
These teachings will offer an insight into that workings and demonstrate how by understanding its nature and functions, it can be used practically in our daily experiences to improve our lives.
In a series of evening and weekend teachings over Zoom, we are honoured to have Venerable Geshe Lobsang Palbar-la guide us as to how one can develop and maintain these positive traits in our minds.
Once we truly learn to recognize and abandon the destructive states in our minds and replace them with peaceful and beneficial ones, only then can we achieve complete and lasting happiness.
These teachings aim to provide from a Buddhist perspective an in-depth view of what is mind and reveal mental factors that accompany it. Pointers will be given on how to reduce the mistaken thinking and attitudes that are the source of all our troubles and how to cultivate constructive ones that ensure our happiness and that of those around us.
